You
can usually find me traipsing the mountains, browsing the bargain
tables at bookstores, bouldering in the basement, or scrapping in
my studio. I've kept a journal since I was 8 years old. Scrapping
was just a natural progression. Telling the stories of my little
family is the part I like best. I also love choosing colors and
patterns that make me feel happy. Orange is the only color that
really scares me. As far as scrapbooking accomplishments go, I've been
published a handful of times and I have the privilege of being one
of the original Villagers and City Planners.
My biggest challenge and joy in life is raising 2 kids.
My little
girl loves to rock climb and my son cracks me up with his practical
jokes. Their battle cry when they get into trouble is, "Mom!
Get your camera and take a picture." They must get it from
their father.
I married Cory almost a decade ago.
We met on a paintball field and
we still make time to play every chance we get. He's the subject of
my favorite
layout. This man makes sure that I have a constant stock of dark
chocolate on hand (Dove is my preferred brand!) and he even cooks
and does dishes.
The best advice that I ever got was
"Before
you become somebody's wife, before you become somebody's mother,
become somebody."

Hi!
I'm Cheryl from Baton Rouge, more commonly known as Casey's mom. *Ü* I began scrapping several years ago.
My sister got me hooked. She
gave me an album, some supplies and a gift certificate to a local
scrapbook store for Christmas one year. I had no idea what it was all for but
one trip to the "LSS" and I was hooked! Now I work there part-time. *Ü*
I love the artsy/creative side of scrapbooking.
I've always
dabbled in crafts, but this one is here to stay! I've been blessed
to be published with Creating Keepsakes, Simple Scrapbooks,
Scrapbook Trends and PaperKuts. I'm also super blessed to be part
of the community here at ScrapVillage. I love being a City
Planner!
A little about
me... The important things to know... I have a yellow
lab, Casey, and a hedgehog, Spikey, both of whom I adore. I love
Diet Coke, dark chocolate and disco! Here's my current favorite
layout. That's about all folks! *Ü*

Hello!
My name is Krista Lund and I am 28 years old. I started
scrapbooking with my college dorm roomie in 1997. My
husband, Zack and I just had a baby girl -- new scrapbook
material! Our pup Sophie is loving being a big sister. I
was honored to be ScrapVillage's very first Featured Artist and even
more proud to be a City Planner! Check out one
of my favorite layouts.

It
all started with my mom’s 110 camera. It never would have
been used if it weren’t for me. Then
it was photos plastered over every inch of my closet doors and
bedroom walls (much to my mother’s dismay). Along came magnetic albums.
Newspaper clippings. A visit to the beach with all the girls in college led the way to
adding magazine clippings to all of our
crazy photos. My son
came and that meant an SLR camera. Then, one night, all because I was bored and had a night off, I was
invited to a scrapbooking party.
Now it is a full-time obsession, a stress reliever, a creative
outlet, a memory keeper, a friend maker, and a great excuse for my
husband to roll his eyes at the amount of supplies that overload my office.
What
started as a way to have fun with paper and preserve my photos has
become a blessing. Chances to work with wonderful people of
scrapbooking community websites and companies; publications in
Creating Keepsakes, Scrapbooks etc., Memory Makers and Scrapbook
Answers; even my own fonts. I never would have guessed it in a
million years.
I
have 4 not-always-so-willing subjects: my wonderful husband of
nearly 7 years, Chris; our 5-year old cup of caffeine, I mean son,
Gabe; our 1-year old strong-lunged daughter, Emily; and our newest
addition, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Zuzu. Yes, she
was named after the little girl in It's a Wonderful Life, the
first movie my husband and I saw together. Occasionally, I'm
even my own subject, but only if the picture has gone through a
strict approval process.
Though,
what I love the most is finding people who are just as passionate,
who don’t get caught up in the details, and who scrap to have fun. Because that is what it is all about. And, by the way, it is pronounced, o-duh-CHOW-skee.

My
favorite layout:
Funny
Faces -- because when I created it, it was something different
that I had never done.

I was born and raised in the
Philippines. When I was 17 our family moved to the U.S. in a little
known Wisconsin town called Chippewa Falls. But it was in Illinois
where I finally settled, where I found work, finished my bachelors
degree, and met my soul-mate. Not necessarily in that order. Now,
happy as a Midwesterner, I live to enjoy life with my husband of
nearly 10 years and our two young children, Benjamin (4) and Sophia
(2).
And to enjoy life even more, I
scrapbook. I scrapbook to eternalize those fleeting baby moments and
etch in my memory those cellulite folds my children have grown out
of so quickly. I would scrapbook every little syllable that comes
out of their mouths if I could scrapbook fast enough. I scrapbook
even those moments that I thought annoyed me. I scrapbook to be
reminded why I chose to be a SAHM. I scrapbook to teach my children
about my faraway childhood home. My heritage. And my husband’s. I
scrapbook my husband to remind me how blessed I am to have him. To
remember that even though he cannot appreciate why I have to add
--just--one--more-- embellishment on a layout, he loves me anyway
and lets me go for a night out (even an extended weekend)
scrapbooking with my girlfriends. I scrapbook to relive sweet
memories with my Papa, who died when I was 11. I scrapbook to
celebrate a beloved sister’s life, who died at age 34. I scrapbook
life, the big events and the little rituals, the way I see it. I
even scrapbook me.
I started scrapbooking a
decade ago but for a long time, I resisted scrapping artfully, until
I chanced upon ScrapVillage.com. I joined ScrapVillage in the middle
of 2005 and I remember thinking, holy cow, there were actually
people talking -- not doing -- but *talking* about scrapbooking ALL
DAY. What losers! Sorry that I really thought that. But apparently,
I wanted to be a loser myself because I kept coming back and ‘listening’
in on the conversations. Then one day, I just couldn’t stand
missing out on the fun anymore and came out of lurkdom. That was
when I discovered a world of cyber friendships with conversations as
warm as an old friend‘s, sitting right next to me. I was wheeled
into a passion I didn’t even know I had. My layouts took a
full-blown artful dimension, and chocolate got added to my scrapbook
supplies. I am proud to be an active member of this community. And
triple proud to hold the title, City Planner.

Leah
(pronounced
"Lay-ah") was born and raised in Toronto, Canada.
After graduating from York
University, she moved to Kansas City, Missouri to marry a cute boy
named Thomas. They now live in Upstate New York with three dogs and
a lutino cockatiel named Chicken. They recently welcomed a son named
Milo into the pack.
Leah’s love affair with scrapbooking
began in 1998 and eventually led to exciting opportunities as an independent
artist and writer. Today, she also fancies cardmaking, rubberstamping, and various altered crafts.
Her
self-described style is instinctive and self-indulgent. Her artwork
ranges from deep to fluffy. She firmly believes that shopping and
organizing constitute half the fun.
Leah
is one of the original City Planners and has been a member of ScrapVillage since week
one. You'll find
her posting as "OrangeShooze" because that's what she had
on her feet the day she registered. Leah is most proud of her layout
Discover
Statues because she didn't measure a single thing to make it
and, generally, she triple measures everything.
